How to wrap your hands in five steps
Wraps protect your knuckles and wrists. Jess shows the quick way the juniors learn first.

Hand wraps keep the small bones of your hand together and your wrist straight when you punch. Here’s the wrap our juniors learn first.
- Thumb loop on, label down. Put the loop over your thumb, with the wrap running across the back of your hand.
- Three times round the wrist. Firm, not tight: you should still feel your fingers.
- Three times round the knuckles. Spread your fingers as you go so the wrap isn’t too tight when you make a fist.
- Between the fingers. Once between each pair, crossing back over the wrist each time.
- Finish at the wrist. Use whatever is left, then close the velcro.
Make a fist. If your fingers tingle, start again a little looser.
